(02-21-18) - An ABC 12 News crew called 911 Wednesday morning after an SUV caught fire in floodwaters.

It happened around 7:20 near Mill and Flushing Roads in Flint Township. Police say an elderly man was trapped in the stalled SUV. Firefighters were able to get him out and he was taken to the hospital.

The SUV was one of several vehicles stalled in rising waters. Police closed the area to traffic. They're reminding drivers it only takes a few inches of water to sweep a car away.

The Genesee County 911 page says Davison Road and North Belsay in Burton was also closed to traffic.
