Colton Cichoracki

Colton joins the ABC12 First Alert Weather Team after spending a few years out of state. Colton originally is from Michigan and was born in Port Huron. Colton has lived in Michigan for most of his life and went to high school in Memphis, Michigan. He graduated from the Blue Water Middle College Academy and earned an Associate's Degree from St. Clair County Community College. He went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology from Central Michigan University.

Colton grew up in a Coast Guard family. He has lived in five states, including Michigan, Connecticut, North Carolina, Missouri and Alaska. His interest in weather began when he was a child living in North Carolina. While living there in the late 1990s, he and his family went through multiple hurricanes, which sparked his interest in meteorology. Unlike many children, Colton spent his days growing up watching the Weather Channel and practicing weather forecasts in front of the TV.

Before joining the ABC12 First Alert Weather Team, Colton worked as a weekday morning meteorologist at KQTV in St. Joseph, Missouri. He also has interned at two Michigan news stations -- one in Detroit and the other in Northern Michigan.

Colton is a lifelong fan of the Detroit Lions, Tigers and Red Wings. He also supports the University of Michigan and, of course, the Central Michigan Chippewas. Colton is excited to be back in the state where he grew up and is ready to forecast the many types of weather in the Mitten State.
