ST. JOHNS, Mich. (WJRT) - Six ago, hundreds of car lovers set out across Lower Michigan for the 11th Back to the Bricks Promo Tour.

Wednesday marked the final leg on a route that included four other stops in Michigan.

Dozens of car enthusiasts rolled into St. Johns on Wednesday morning to close out the tour. They lined up at Sundance Buick/GMC, showing off their classics, customs and very unique vehicles before preparing to head back home.

Chrome shined in the sunlight, as cars from the distant and not so distant past parked for the last time together. It was another chance to see old friends and make new ones, all sharing a common bond by the vehicles they own and love.

Back to the Bricks Promo Tour organizer and chairman Larry Konya said flexibility was one of the cornerstones that helped make this year’s tour a success after a year off due to the pandemic.

“This is a free-wheel tour. You can get up and go whenever you wanted. That’s the good part about it,” he said. “Even though we have things that you can do and times to do them, you can do whatever you want.”

The tour left ELGA Credit Union in Flint Township on Friday morning and made its first stop in Mount Pleasant for a car show at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort that evening. The more than 300 cars on the tour spent the weekend in Boyne City.

The tour continued on to Cadillac on Monday and Muskegon on Tuesday for reaching the final destination Wednesday.
