FLINT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJRT) - Police are investigating a shooting outside the Home Depot in Flint Township.

The shooting was reported around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot outside the store on Corunna Road.

The Flint Township Police Department says a 25-year-old man got out of his car to confront a 20-year-old man who he knows inside another car in the parking lot. The 25-year-old allegedly walked back to his car, grabbed a handgun, fired at the 20-year-old and fled the scene.

The victim gave police a description of the suspect’s car before he was rushed to an area hospital, where he was listed in serious condition. Investigators say the suspect returned to the scene a short time later and turned himself in to police.

The suspect remained in the Genesee County Jail on Tuesday evening while awaiting arraignment on formal charges.
